01Who we are

Create & Cultivate (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a nonprofit organization recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, EIN 88-1557753, with its principal mailing address at 2413 Kittyhawk Dr, Plano, TX 75025-6093.

This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through createcultivate.llc, our events, our newsletter, and our podcast.

02Information you give us

  • Contact details — name, email address, postal address, and phone number when you subscribe, register for an event, apply to a program, or contact us.
  • Event information — dietary needs, accessibility requirements, and any details you provide during registration or application.
  • Donation information — amounts, dates, and designations. Card numbers are handled by our payment processor and are never stored on our servers.
  • Communications — messages you send us, and your responses to surveys or feedback requests.

03Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, limited technical information is collected by us and by the services we use.

  • Device and browser type, operating system, and screen size.
  • IP address and approximate location derived from it.
  • Pages viewed, referring URL, and time spent on the site.
  • Cookie and pixel identifiers, subject to the consent choices you make.

04How we use information

  • To operate the site and deliver the events, content, and programs you request.
  • To send newsletters and updates you have asked to receive.
  • To process and acknowledge donations, and to issue tax receipts.
  • To measure how our content performs and improve it.
  • To advertise our programs, where you have consented to advertising cookies.
  • To meet legal, tax, accounting, and charitable-reporting obligations.
  • To protect the security and integrity of our site, events, and community.

05Legal bases for processing

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following bases: performance of a contract (delivering an event you registered for); consent (marketing email, advertising cookies); legitimate interests (site security, basic analytics, and communicating about our charitable mission); and legal obligation (tax and nonprofit reporting).

06Cookies, pixels, and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies, including advertising and analytics technologies that may be provided by third parties such as advertising platforms. Non-essential cookies are set only after you consent through our cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time.

TODO(legal): list the exact analytics and advertising vendors in use (for example Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel) before publishing.

07How we share information

We do not sell your personal information.

  • Service providers — email, payment, hosting, ticketing, and analytics vendors who process data on our instructions.
  • Advertising platforms — only where you have consented to advertising cookies.
  • Event partners — only where a partnership is disclosed to you at the point of registration.
  • Legal and safety — when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our community.
  • Organizational changes — in connection with a merger with, or transfer of assets to, another nonprofit organization.

08Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, or as required by tax, charitable-reporting, and recordkeeping rules. Donor records are retained as required for nonprofit accounting. You may ask us to delete information we are not required to keep.

09Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10Children's privacy

Our site and programs are directed to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11International transfers

We operate in the United States. If you access the site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
